Introducing Vilas Gaikwad

With a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Vilas started his career with B.S.E.S. and has never looked back since. Starting as a junior apprentice in the mid-1980s, Vilas soon rose through the hierarchy to become Project manager and further escalated to project coordinator by the early 1990s.

In BSES, Vilas was responsible for numerous projects to be carried out from scratch up to successfully charging and handing over to end users. It was in BSES where Vilas got hands-on experience in relay testing, switchgear and equipment testing and further extra low voltage systems. BSES laid the foundation stone of extra and high voltage into his career. Vilas was entrusted with completing Currency Note Press at Nashik, Jindal Steel Works-Alibaug, Bajaj Auto at Aurangabad and IPCL-Nagothane.

By 1997 Vilas had moved to Dubai with ETA. Here Vilas got accustomed to international norms, designs and standards of MEP engineering. Over a period of time, Vilas not only led for Electrical & IBMS division but was also a key member of the HVAC and Mechanical team. Dubai helped Vilas understand how to deliver cost-efficient, reliable, but sustainable design in a project. Vilas completed key projects like the Emirates Twin Towers, the First district cooling plant of Dubai, Al-Ghurair Centre, and Dubai International Airport.

Electromech Engineers Associates was the brainchild of Vilas and was founded in Pune in 2003. Starting with small projects the organisation started growing in size. Due to his excellent track record in ETA-Dubai, Vilas was called as a Project manager for the first underground section of the Delhi metro in 2005, for which he won accolades from the Prime Minister of India. Over the period with his leadership Electromech Engineers Associates successfully completed various projects like Goa Shipyard, General Electric at Chakan, IIT Hyderabad, Emerson process management, Deccan Fine Chemicals at Goa and Andhra Pradesh, IISER etc, to name a few. His keen interest in relay coordination and fault analysis has enabled the organisation to become certified multiple users of ETAP software. Vilas brings vast experience in the MEP field and has an organised approach to any design.
